Digidesign 003 Drivers Pro Tools 10

Posted on by

I've had a Digidesign 003 gathering dust in my home Edit suite for a little over a year now, inherited from a late friend's hobbiest ProTools home studio when he passed. After reading the on the support site, it clear that ProTools and MC need to be installed in a particular order, but it was unclear if that also applies to just the 003 driver. I am going to need to uninstall MC before I install the 003 Drivers? Anyone had success with simply adding a Digidesign interface on top of their existing MC install? (I realize PT11 will not run on OSX 10.10, but the drivers for the 003 seem to be approved now) I'd just bite the bullet and try it, but I've a deadline to meet this week and can happily continue to use KB and Mouse unless I can confirm I wont be losing sleep restoring my system to working order. Thanks in advance! Steve PT 11 and higher are supported with MC 6.5.3.x and higher in a co-install enviroment.

Install Pro Tools first and then Media Composer 2. Download Game Gta Vice City Monty. You must uninstall any older Media Composer or Pro Tools versions before installing 6.5.3.x and higher or PT 11 and higher 3. Co-install does not support both applications launched simultaneously so you cant have them both open at th same time. If on a Mac.. Before installing Media Composer, you must launch Pro Tools once to complete the Pro Tools installation.

Hi Marianna, I understood the need to uninstall MC8.3 and install PT11 before MC8.3, and the instructions you have offered here, from the doccument I linked in the original post (which I believe you are quoting).

It is possible however I am not fully understanding what I can do with the 003 and MC, I will try to clarify what I am trying to do: I have MC8.3 I have a Digidesign 003, used. I am hoping I can use the 003 in MC8.3 the way I used to use the Command 8 in MC3 way back when, in Automation Gain/Live Mix Mode. • Will I need to (upgrade to and) install PT11, or can I simply install the stand alone drivers to accomplish this? • If I can just install the 003 Family Drivers 11.1.3, do I need to uninstall MC8.3, install the 003 Family Drivers, then install MC8.3 again? Or can I simply install the 11.1.3 *drivers* on the system without removing MC8.3? The Co-installation instructions seem both on the link and in your comments seem to be speaking directly to PT11, not the 003 Family Drivers themselves.

Thanks for the additional clarity on this. It looks like this will not work:( Just the 002 and Command 8 work in that way. Wish I had a better answer. Here is what they sent me.
