Next, select the Ellipsis Tool on the Tool Bar. Position your mouse in one of the upper corners of the canvas and then drag to the lower corner on the opposite side. I want it to be blue, so I am going to click on the black area of the Layers Palette. This will bring up a panel where I can adjust colors to my liking. Here is my newly blue circle.

Now, what I am going to do next is create a new layer. In the Layers Palette that we used earlier to change the color of the circle, there is a Create New Layer button. What we’ll need to use next is a Brush Tool. While making sure that your new layer is still selected in the Layers Palette, change the width of the Brush to 12 and the Flow to 15. That’s probably the best you’re going to be able to do for this one. Drag this tool along the left side of the circle in order to create a shadow effect. Keep doing this until the shadow gradually appears. It’ll take around four strokes to make it visible.

Keep stroking until you’ve achieved your desired effect. There we have it, a three dimensional ball effect! Zoom out (CTRL -) to fully enjoy your creation.
